Since launching The Cameraman almost two years ago, I have generally been pleased with how this blog has turned out. I thoroughly enjoy writing the reviews featured here and appreciate the nice responses I have received from readers.
My main regret is simply that I have not written that much. I typically post about one review a month, which is fine but not quite my preferred productivity level. Also, reviews of Ghibli movies and anime generally have tended to dominate the blog. As much I like those movies, I don’t want this to be exclusively an anime blog.
With this in mind, I have decided to launch another retrospective series in the near future. Having multiple movie retrospectives running in parallel will encourage me to write more while offering somewhat more varied movies to review and generally keeping this blog interesting to me—and, I hope, readers. (Also, it means I don’t have to hurry to finish the Ghibli retrospective, which is way too much fun to rush through.)
I will also of course continue to do one-off reviews of selected new releases or other movies that seem worth assessing.
Stay tuned for the new retrospective series. In the meantime, please like and follow this blog’s new Facebook page!
